A dismissed sergeant of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Jigawa state police command, Sani Danjuma, has been arrested for leading a robbery squad to attack a guest house in Kano metropolis belonging to the deputy governor of Jigawa state, Barr Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.

According to reports, the dismissed officer served guard duty in the said guest house while in active service of the force and thus conspired with three others to attack the house carting away a BMW posh car valued at N11m and some undisclosed amounts of cash.

The suspects disarmed the police officer stationed at the guest house.

Spokesperson of the state police command, SP Magaji Musa Majia who paraded the suspects before newsmen, said the guest house was attacked on Sunday, 18th March, at 9:30pm.

"An information through a good samaritan was disclosed to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in Kano that armed robbers with dangerous weapons attacked the guest house of the deputy governor of jigawa state located along Okashatu close off Hadejia road where they attacked the policemen on guard duty and confiscated one AK47 rifle with the rifle No: 26594 loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunition," he said.

Majia said upon the receipt of the information, the state Police Commissioner, Rabi’u Yusuf immediately ordered the Anti-Robbery Squad to swing into action, which led to the eventual arrest of the suspects.

The arrested suspects have all confessed to the crime and have led detectives to their hideout where the loaded rifle belonging to the police officer and the BMW posh car and other dangerous weapons were recovered.

It took only 26 days for "Black Panther" to crack $1 billion at the global box office, and since opening last month the film has been at the top of the box office five weeks in a row. So far the film has made more than $1.1 billion worldwide.

The film also holds a 97% score on review site Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the best-reviewed comic book films in history.

About National Biosafety Management Agency

The National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA) was established by the National Biosafety Management Agency Act 2015, to provide regulatory framework to adequately safe guard human health and the environment from potential adverse effects of modern biotechnology and genetically modified organisms, while harnessing the potentials of modern biotechnology and its derivatives, for the benefit of Nigerians. The Act came into force in April 2015, with the appointment of a Director General and Chief Executive Officer.

A South African church known as Gabola Church of International Ministries. is going viral because of their unorthodox method of service.

The church allows members to drink during sermon and also members are baptized using any beer of their choice.

The church was founded by 52-year-old Bishop Tsietsi Makiti and they hold their service at Freddy’s Tavern in Orange Farm, south of Joburg.

Their devotion starts at 11am and last till 3pm – but they don’t mind going on even longer.

Bishop Tsietsi defends his ideologies using a passage of the bible where Jesus turned water into wine

According to the bishop, people didn’t know what to do for fun, but when Jesus changed water into wine he prayed for it to stimulate their bodies.

He also claimed the church will help crime rates have reduced in the area because people who drink are happy people.

“So this church also prays for their drinks before they are served. With God in our taverns we would see crime being reduced and love and respect promoted. People who drink beer are happy and peaceful. This means they are living in the shadow of God.”

The owner of the tavern, Freddy Mathebula (53) said the church accommodated the rejects of communities.

“Since the church started, crime has been reduced and we have received a great response from the community.”

“The church makes me feel at home. I can’t see myself being a member of any other church,” he said proudly.

No fewer than 2000 women in Benue State, some of them elderly women with their breasts open, staged protest on the streets of Makurdi, Benue state, in support of the newly enacted anti-open grazing law of the state. Some of the elderly women came out without wearing any bra.

The state government on Wednesday implemented the law that bans herdsmen from indiscriminate grazing in the state. The herdsmen have however vowed to resist the law.

Recall that many lives have been lost and properties destroyed following series of clash between community members and herdsmen after the cows managed by the herdsmen destroyed the farmlands of some community members.

Nigerian Wrestler, Power Uti Faces Trial For Allegedly Killing His Wife And Locking Her Corpse In His Room

55-year-old ex-wrestler, John Eke Uti a.k.a Power Uti was on Tuesday arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for allegedly killing his wife, Toyin.
Uti is facing a two-count charge of murder and disrespect to corpse.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Jimah Iseghede had told the court that the accused committed the offences on Oct. 10 about 10.25 p.m. at No. 17, Oremeji St., Ilupeju, Lagos.

He alleged that the accused beat his 38-year-old wife, Toyin, to death and abandoned the corpse in a room to decompose.
Magistrate Bola Folarin-Williams, however, reversed the remand application brought by the police.
She said after going through the case file there was nothing in the accused statement and in the police investigation that shows that the accused killed his wife.
She, therefore, granted the accused bail of N500, 000 with two responsible sureties, who must be blood relations and also work with reputable organisations.
Bola Folarin-Williams directed that the case file should be duplicated and a copy be forwarded to the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPPs) for legal advice.
The case has been adjourned until Nov. 15.
